Very few objects of everyday use have such a relation with the world of spirits as mirrors. Over time, many communities have identified the image that the mirror gives us, as the image of the human soul. Consequently, all mirrors that are near people who are dying are covered in order to prevent their soul from being trapped in them once it abandons the body. This is one of the reasons why they are part of so many popular legends. The urban legend Nine Times Verónica, besides being one of the most well-known and widespread stories nowadays, has a lot to do with mirrors. According to this myth, to call the spirit of Verónica you have to stand in front of a mirror with a lit candle and say her name nine times. Everybody knows it is very dangerous to do so. Nevertheless, many do it anyway. One of those who decided to take the risk was a fourteen year old called Ana.
